Partner's annotated Alien script:

How has my partner analysed the script well?

My partner has analysed the script well, mainly the first half. In particular, he has analysed the content of the "Hypersleep Vault" scenes, describing what goes on in the spaceship. He describes the atmosphere as being "joking and light" which shows that characters are presented in a casual way. He generally describes most of the script as being "jokey". The scene in the second half of the script he has analysed most is the "Mess" scene, with all the characters present.  He describes the conversation in great detail, talking about how the crew "learn new information" and that it's bad news. Overall, there is some good analysis but for not enough annotations on other elements such as genre, or even on other scenes throughout the script.

What could he do to analyse the script better?

To analyse the script better, my partner could annotate the second half of the script as there is very little annotation. However, there is one part which he focused on in particular with the "Mess" section. To improve, he could annotate on how the scenes link with the genre, target audience and narrative perspective, as well as style and content and add more annotations on all key scenes in the script.
